I have a list of 20 music videos I found on YouTube for the STUFF section on the front page. One that I found a few days ago was Black Sabbath's "Paranoid", the one I embeded today. It's one of the greatest rock songs of all time. But it also brings back memories of growing up in Abadan my hometown in southern Iran (I don't bring up Abadan THAT much, do I?!).
My older sisters Soraya and Sue-san were in boarding school in England at the time (early 1970s). When they would come home for their summer vacation, they would bring the latest popular music albums with them. The Beatles, Rolling Stones, James Taylor, Janis Joplin, ...
My father had a beautiful, grand record player in the living room. He had hooked it up to two giant speakers. They were lllllloud... great for parties -- and my sisters had the best. We would clear the living room of everything except the music system. The floor would be entirely covered with carpets. Colorful pillows and poshtis (thick cylindrical pillows) would be placed all around the room for the guests to be comfortable. The lights would go off, and Ozzy Osborne would blast into the air...
Me and my younger sister, Iran, would be exiled to our rooms as to not annoy or be in the way of the adults. Fortunately the music was loud enough to enjoy. I was a kid, my English was not that good and I didn't understand the lyrics. What turned me on though was the beat, the rhythm the melody...
When I embeded the video this morning, I thought maybe it's time to listen to the actual lyrics for a change. It wasn't that easy, but it was shocking enough for me to look it up online... and I thought... ohhh crap! :o)

A "Glitch" In Your "Blog Central"
by Bill Gates (not verified) on Mon Jan 14, 2008 12:34 PM PSTJJ, for the past 2 to 3 days, about half the time when I Click on "Blog Central" from Front Page, I get an HTTP 404 error, and it doesn't open Up. I Haven't Changed Anything On My Computer.
Tell your "IT" Guy about it. I know That You have Been making Changes Throughout The Site, and That May Caused The Glitch.

First, please don't pay attention to these "A**holes" that are spewing venom here.
Second, I can not think of any "Real" improvement on the site except the "Leaving" of Comments for the "Headlines".
Miz Mammad pointed that out earlier. You don't know how many times in the past I have read a "Headline", and was "Scratching" to leave a "Comment".
Please don't wait till Norooz. Do it sooner. I promise you one thing: Once people start leaving comments for the "Headlines", It is going to be bigger than any other part of the site.

I recently said to my friends that I think in all of Iranian.com this corner is Jahanshah's personal spot, where he is the only contributor, and that makes it a really special column. I will add my requests to the list, and ask that a) You provide some small description of the clip, and preferably your reasons, thoughts, feelings, for selecting it, and b) at some point room for comments by the rest of us!
