They are all beautiful
by Souri on Sun Apr 26, 2009 09:19 PM PDTDear Adib,
All Farhad's songs are amazingly beautiful. I's astonished by the feeling you described when you hear Koudakaaneh!! This song remind us (the old ones) of our childhood, the real sense of Nowruz, with the smell of flowers and all those things which accompanied it....But even you, you get the same feeling. This shows how much that song is powerful and how passionately Farhad performed it.
Amazing, just amazing.
Thanks dear Ladder and dear Adib for those great video. It vivid so much memories for me tonight.
Shab khosh.
So nice to see...
by Adib Masumian on Sun Apr 26, 2009 09:06 PM PDT...a video of Farhad himself at that young age. I love those songs by him, and also Koocheha, Koodakaneh, Shahidan Shahr (also known as Shabaneh which dear Souri posted), and especially Ayeneh. I really love the background piano in Ayeneh; it's just such a potent force throughout the whole song, filling in the gaps of silence with its bittersweet feeling so prevalent in older Iranian music. Koodakaneh is probably my favorite song of Farhad because it "reminds" me of carefree memories I never lived (not that carefree anyway); it makes me nostalgic for a past that isn't mine. Listening to it, for me, is an exercise in imagination and yearning.
