There are Jews present here, and they can speak for themselves. No need for you to represent them. We are not tools that you can pull out for your convenience whenever you find it advantageous. How about you just stick to your Jew and Israel bashing and "Zio-Nazi" kind of crap? Ok?

And Unfortunately....

by Anonymous Observer on

becuase of our collective stupidity, ineptitude, stubbornness and self loathing, the land of Cyrus, and most importantly, the culture of Cyrus has become the land and culture of "Abolfazl", "Imam Hussein" and "Malek-e-Ashtar"...a bunch of barefooted Arabs who do not even compare with the waste that came out of Cyrus when he went to the bathroom....

Shame on us...we deserve what we get..."khalayegh har cheh layegh"!!

Persia is Eternal.

Cyrus , stood for true Iran

by samsam1111 on

True Iran in it,s original concept . He may be gone but his legacy and vision will live in the hearts of true patriots no matter how hard his ommati, post-Sassanid adversaries try to tarnish his image . The revisionist cultural agents of shaikhism & modern appologist of ommatism are hard at work rewriting history , demolishing his tomb, brainwashing the youth to erase true concept of old Iran . Before You know it , there will be claime that Cyrus was not even Iranian/Persian and some obscure international entity . Cyrus was a just, rightious, worldly leader but above all , He carried the most basic message of true identity of Iran contrary to everything that V-ran under ommatis stand today . His message is about tolerance but not the kind of tolerance in the face of  backward occupation by foreign invaders as ommatis/reformists want folks to believe.

Nameh;

True . asking to write in pure Parsi is a crime commited under ommatist culture . Hypocracy indeed .

King Cyrus has long gone

by nemah (not verified) on

Let's face it, King Cyrus has long gone and his legacy has long been forgotten by all Iranians both inside Iran as we started a backward revolution to tarnish his legacy and outside by our intolerant manner, we Iranian can't even agree or even tolerate each other opinions, I just can’t figure out why we keep remind each other of King Cyrus greatness.
There is a fundamental flaw in our nature, I am so convince of it. It’s called hypocrisy people.

Cyrus' Legacy

by Khar on

Cyrus the Great is famed as a triumphant conqueror, a superb warrior, and the founder of the greatest empire the world has ever seen. However, with the Cyrus Cylinder and a range of Jewish texts, plus extensive writings by Xenophon, Cyrus is generally more admired as a liberator than a conqueror. Cyrus the Great was mentioned twenty-two times in the Old Testament, where he is unconditionally praised. This followed his active liberation of the Jews from Babylon in 539BCE and his support as more than 40,000 Jews then chose to return to their homeland. Cyrus then funded the subsequent rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem. Cyrus was also eulogized by many other writers and his actual or legendary exploits were used as moral instruction or as a source of inspiration for political philosophies. For example, the Greek author and soldier Xenophon believed him to be the ideal ruler, and in the Cyropedia - often considered Xenophon's masterpiece - he offers a fictionalised biography of the great man. This is more "a treatise on political virtue and social organisation" than a history. It was influential in ancient times and then again in the Renaissance. It may have been composed in response to Plato's The Republic, and Plato's Laws seems to refer back to it. Scipio Africanus is said to have always carried a copy of the Cyropedia with him. Later on, in the Renaissance, Spenser, in his The Faerie Queene (1596), says: "For this cause is Xenophon preferred before Plato, for that the one, in the exquisite depth of his judgment, formed a Commune wealth, such as it should be; but the other in the person of Cyrus, and the Persians, fashioned a government, such as might best be: So much more profitable and gracious is doctrine by ensample, then by rule."The English philosopher Sir Thomas Browne named his 1658 discourse The Garden of Cyrus after the benevolent ruler. This dense treatise of hermetic philosophy may be a Royalist criticism upon the autocratic rule of Cromwell. Cyrus' name and his doctrine is still cited and celebrated into modern times. In 1994, a replica of a bas relief depicting Cyrus the Great was erected in a park in Sydney, Australia . This monument is intended as a symbol for multiculturalism, and to express the coexistence and peaceful cohabitation of people from different cultures and backgrounds.

By pursuing a policy of generosity, instead of repression, Cyrus demonstrated his Greatness. So successful were his policies of conquest, mercifulness and assimilation that the empire continued to thrive for some 200 years after his death. Cyrus' compassionate principles continue to resonate today: his religious and cultural tolerance and commitment to the liberation of enslaved peoples remain an aspiration in our troubled modern world.

Souri jan !

by samsam1111 on

I had a hunch and If She is or supported by one,  then,  She should act accordingly , with impartiality & civility . Mixing ideological differences with personal prejudice to attack my very polite , civil comment on the blog at hand & ultimately pick & choose comments to be deleted , reminds me, of  "Judge,Jury & sherif" in the hands of one.

Thank you my enlightening friend.

Regards!!!

To Educate sam the Anti-Semite...

by Khar on

The Semitic languages are a language family whose living representatives are spoken by more than 467 million people across much of the Middle East, North Africa, and the Horn of Africa. They constitute a branch of the Afro-Asiatic language family. They are the only branch of Afro-Asiatic to be spoken not only in Africa but also in Asia.

The most widely spoken Semitic language today is Arabic[1] (322 million native speakers),[2] ( 422 million total speakers)[3]. It is followed by Amharic (27 million),[4][5] Tigrinya (about 6.7 million),[6] and Hebrew (about 5 million).[7]

Semitic languages are attested in written form from a very early date, with texts in Eblaite and Akkadian appearing from around the middle of the third millennium BC, written in a script adapted from Sumerian cuneiform. The other scripts used to write Semitic languages are alphabetic. Among them are the Ugaritic, Phoenician, Aramaic, Syriac, Arabic, South Arabian, and Ge'ez alphabets. Maltese is the only Semitic language to be written in the Latin alphabet. It is also the only official Semitic language within the European Union.

The term "Semitic" for these languages, after Shem, the son of Noah in the Bible, is etymologically a misnomer in some ways (see Semitic), but is nonetheless in standard use.

About Kourosh Kabir

by IRANdokht on

None of us can have any exclusive claim on Kourosh the great.

This great emperor reigned at a such high level of humanity and tolerance that he doesn't even belong to Iranians alone, Kourosh belongs to the world. It's obvious that the world has not seen many rulers of his caliber in over 2500 years, hence the International Cyrus the great day!

The best we can do is learn how to be a better person by following his example and respecting humanity and the human rights.

Thank you for the blog and the reminder of this day

Read the blog again, I don’t think you personally believe in any of declarations of Human Rights listed, what they mean and have any idea what the Man stood for and what made him great! Auh, I know! you were just referring to the text translation because of your demented racism you can't have any Arabic/Hebrew (Semitic languages) words in the text. Although the Persian Empire stretched from India to North Africa and the Jews/Arabs also freed by him.

PS. SamSam, We Iranians/Persians know Kuroush-e-Kabir, he was a great man, kind man and he was ahead his time! and You Are No Kuroush, stop using his picture as your avatar you are giving him a very bad name!

Meanwhile , If I may, You could have done the translation of his all encompassing message in pure Parsi, "keh deleh ou beh-rasti shad shavad" . Nevertheless great effort on the part of true patriots such as You & Your group . God bless the legacy of true Iran & of Cyrus of Anshan.
