Today, 8th Sep 2011 marks the 170th birthday anniversary of legendary Czech composer ANTONIN DVORAK.
He is quite famous in the history of music because of using Czech folk music in his works. "New World Symphony", "Rusalka Opera", "Slavonic Dances" and "Concerto for Cello and Orchestra"" are among Dvorak most famous works.
More than half a century ago, the Persian-language music magazines were full of articles on Dvorak's works. It was the time that Persian composers were discussing the issue how they can use Persian folk music in their works in classical styles.
Here you can enjoy parts of Dvorak great works:
New World Symphony (4th Movement)
Dvorak: Rusalka Opera, Anna Netrebko
Dvorak: Symphony No.8 (1st Movement)
Dvorak: Slavonic Dances
