Somethings I've 'noticed'

I've been browsing around about Iran alot lately and I have been learning alot about the revolution. Most people say that it was internal and no other countries helped, but I am farely certain that it was aided by various countries (Read: Britain, USA)

Look at this video of Carters' toast of the shah in 1979. When he says "Island of stability" his whole tone completely changes for that part, he sounds as if he feels guilty you could say.

Also this one of Reagen's to me sounds a bit fishy (I'm probably just seeing what I want to see though.)

My mom said at the time of the Revolution that no one knew who exactly was organizing it in Iran, she said they received pamphlets on where to go. Well making millions of pamphlets takes time and money lots of it, something a CIA or British inteliigence agency would have.. I have also heard that USA and Britain feared that Iran was becoming to friendly with the Soviets? I think they may have feared communist uprising, thus they put in the Mullahs to despose of the faithless communists'. Lastly, the shah always said he wanted to break free from USA and Britain which they didn't like. I think that they put the Mullah's in power but once they came to power they kicked Britaina nd USA out of Iran and then the students' took the embassy, it seems awfully fishy that a bunch of students' who wanted to just take the hostages for a few days would wait 444 days, and then release them the second Reagen is sworn in. I beleive they were working for someone other than Iran. When the Shah vistied the USA before the revolution there were a couple hundred protestors' at his speech pretending to be Iranian-Americans in masks, it was later learned that most of them had blonde hair and knew barely any Farsi.

I see this as all being a big conspiracy that went wrong for the USA onceeini betrayed them. What do you think?

WITH NO DOUBT….

Dear Prince,

I personally have no doubt that there where larger powers at play that influenced and organized the 1979 revolution,

I have always believed that our (Iranians) biggest sin is that we have OIL and other natural resources that are valuable to the wet and for that we will never be left free from foreign influence and deception.

It is no secret that the Shah was kept in power with the help of the CIA during the 1970’s and could be considered a dictator put in place for western interests but I also have no doubt that the Shah was a true patriot, he loved and cared about his country and people and at one point (in the peak of his power) decided he would no longer want to play the role of a western stooge and be muniplilated and have Iran be exploited by western powers and started playing hard ball with the west. As of all men, he also had his faults, at one point he had became a bit disconnected with the majority of the Iranian population, he had rushed Iran into modernization so fast that a large majority that was still illiterate and dependant on their cultural and religious believes had not had a chance to digest and keep up with the speed of western modernization and culture, we had experienced a revolution in the modernization of technology and adopted some western culture but had not experienced a cultural revolution of the minds yet.

“I have also heard that USA and Britain feared that Iran was becoming too friendly with the Soviets? I think they may have feared communist uprising, thus they put in the Mullahs to despose of the faithless communists'.”

I don’t think this was the case, the way I see it the Shah did not care for going to bed with the soviet and he was actually very sensitive to keeping communism out of Iran and was very harsh in dealing with such lines of thought and influence in Iran. I believe what truly put fear in the west was the Shah’s

Long term plan for developing Iran into an economic super power kind of like a Japan with oil power, a Japan on steroids, he had also had a change of heart with his foreign policy dealing with western powers ( no more bending over ) he was jacking up the price of oil  every year with the attitude of no more oil for free and no more exploitation of Iran by western powers with an” in your face” type of attitude, so it was decided by the west that this poppet is no longer playing ball and it’s time for him to go!

At the same time it seems that the Shah had double standards, he did not want to be bullied by the west but at the same time he had a problem making decisions when the going got rough and kept seeking approvals from west on taking some actions instead of calling the shots and seeking advice from other Iranian think tanks, so once the country was in the verge of the revolution he perhaps failed to make the right decisions?

I am no expert on such matters but just shared what came to mind.

Also, take a look at these clips below; I think this was the beginning of his end!

Cheers.

combination of all

1)U.S administration wanted to get rid of shah as early as 1973, when his insistance about raising price of oil and his desire not to sign the oil deal in 1979 become apparent.

2) All the efforts to put pressure on soviet union had not succeeded  and the scheme that folks like Brezhinski and others came up with is to use islam to distablize soviet Union.Population of non russians, specialy muslims were increasing at rapid rate while russian population was declinining. It is the stratedgy that worked fine. Russians fell for it by getting involved in Afghanistan and mighty soviet army broke along the racial and ethnic line. Now the bad part beside sacrifisng Iran and Afghinstan was the release of dormant islamo facist jeannie and it's subsequent results.

3) Finaly economic crisis of 1975 in Iran, due to rapid growth, and backwardness of socitey as a whole, particualry large number of peasents pouring into cities which did not have adequate infrastructure to deal with this influx added fuel to the fire.

The rest is history as they say.
