Today I received another petition to the UN, and was just about to sign it, when I noticed the body of the text, namely:

"We Iranian people and supporters of democracy and freedom across the world request united nations to condemn the current coup d'état, support Iranians in their efforts for a fair election and restrain from accepting Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as the next president of Iran.

We ask the world leaders to insist on security of the opposition leaders--president elect Mir Hossein Mousavi, former presidents Mohammad Khatami and Akbar Rafsanjani and the former speaker of the Parliament Mehdi Karoubi."

I have no idea who has written this petition, but I know it has already collected over 20,000 signatures. I don't know about you, but my primary concerrn is the safety and security of the general public. I cannot believe someone would write such a petition and forget to mention the 'minor' detail of mentioning all those brave souls on the streets who are putting so much on the line for the so called 'opposition leaders' who do not even have a decent track record.

Please make sure you read the petitions carefully before you sign them.

FYI here is the URL to the petition. See for yourself.

Yes

Thank you I am with you now and this is partly what I been trying to say.

There are people who think these activities were solely for musavi and it is very wrong. Following my discussion with others it seems this has not been clarified properly with public. I believe a wolf cub is a wolf.

Oh Amir!

My point is that the main reason I would want to sign any petition is because I want to protect the innocent public and not people like Hashemi or anybody belonging to the establishment, and I found it very odd that who ever drafted this petition did not even bother to mention the millions who so bravely went onto the street.

I hope that's clearer now.

Best,

You comment could not make it clearer, who the ignorant is.

Presumptious as you are, could you please enlighten me and the rest of the readership who exactly I 'have in mind'?

wow this post is pretty ignorant of you! take a look at programs on VOA and etc, they have already jumped on the band wagon as well, dont be a buzz kill, he is THE current opposition leader of Iran and he got way more track record than the people you have in mind, get your facts straight, before talking.
