Dear Robert

by Shoe Thrower (not verified) on

What is the rush?! I thought the deadline was tomorrow. Just kidding you can make the video whenever you want.

Just one request this is mucho importante.

PLEASE ask your uncle to sit down in a kitchen table or another table and look you in the eye or in the camera and respond to your questions.

PLEASE ask him not to work on his laptop while being interviewed. He should give you his undivided attention, otherwise it won't count!

Good luck and best wishes!

Dear Robert

by Nazy Kaviani on

When you interview someone, it's best if you feel really comfortable with the questions you ask him or her. You have to understand the questions yourself, so that you can have a natural chat with your "subject," in this case your uncle. Don't ask any of the questions you don't understand or you don't feel comfortable to ask.

1. I would like to know if he can name all the countries (and their major cities) that he has visited as a journalist and as a tourist. Which country is his next destination?

2. If he could go back to school or if he could attend some training, what would he like to learn?

Thank you Robert Jaan. Happy New Year to you.

Robert jaan, what a great idea....

by ThePope on

Young man, you rule.

I have 10 questions for your uncle, starting from the most important one to the least important. Please tell him to answer honestly...

Would you please ask him:
1-What's his shoe size?
2-Does he sing when he showers?
3-Has he ever hidden anything in his hair (afro)?
4-Does he sometimes pick his nose while he's working on I.C?
5-When was the last time he popped a zit on his face?
6-Does he wash or wipe? (or both?)
7-Does he know that his avatar picture looks like Harold Lloyd?
8-What's the first three letters/numbers of his computer password?
9-Which one: Perspolis or esteghlaal?
10-What are the similarities between an 'editor' and a 'dictator'?

Thanks Robert jaan.

Hi I was shocked my first

by AnonymousTheMrs (not verified) on

Hi I was shocked my first question wasn't moderated. Great. Thanks.
Here's another one:

JJ, pick 3 bloggers you would like to meet (that you haven't met) and 3 you wouldn't meet even if they paid you 100$ each.

Quescions

by Shoe Thrower (not verified) on

- What is his childhood's best memory?

- What is the one thing he remembers most about his father?

- What is the one thing he remembers most about his mother?

- Does he remember his first bicycle? Does he have a bicycle story he can tell us?

-----------
My bicycle story is that my father didn't want us to have a bicycle because he was afraid of traffic and thought we'd be in danger if we rode a bicycle in the streets. Finally he gave up and one day he took my older brother and me to bazaar to buy us a bicycle (we had to share :-).

We didn't know anything about "buying" bicycles, didn't do any research or anything like we do today, so to make a long story short we ended up buying a girl's bicycle! A very nice light green bicycle. You know girls bicycle have 2 parallel tubes going from around chain to the handles while boys bicycle is straight and goes from seat to the handles.

Anyway, we could only ride the bicycle early in the mornings and just for 10 minutes or so while our father would watch. Later this became boring and my father gave up on watching us all the time. After we saw giggling from children in our streets about riding a girls bicycle my brother gave up but I rode the bike. I didn't care and told them whatever. That bike was fun. I taped the tubes, colorful tapes flying off handles, had a tire pump, cushioned the seat, bells and whistles, a jack and other stuff. Later we took the bike to Shomal (north of Iran) and I rode it in mud and stuff until it was completely broken.

My next bicycle was a Hercules! The oldtimers know it as ones where the Butcher and Shopkeeper drove to work with. Their seats had 2 springs and people still ride them in Iran. You can also have a passenger in the middle sitting to the side. Sorry my comment got long, didn't mean to.

Please add your own questions. This blog isn't for debate it is to ask questions.

Shoe thrower: the last question, I know the answer

by Souri on

Is he flexible and humble enough to admit he may be wrong and change course?

Yes, he is. He is a gem when it comes to this. Jahanshah is not only smart enough, but also very sensitive to the other people's needs. He is very humble but at the the same time he is determined. It happened more that once that he admitted he was not "so right" ...:O)

No need to ask this question, I gave you the answer.

- If it was one thing he would change about i.com what would it be?

- If it was one thing he'd improve on i.com what would it be?

- If one day i.com becomes legal again in Iran would he consider changing anything?

- If he were to name 3 of his favorite contributors who would they be?

- If he were to name 3 of his least favorite contributors who would they be?

- If he could ask one registered user to go away who would it be?

Question(s)

- What is the bravest thing he has done in his life?

- What is (one of) his most embarrasing memory?

- What is he most proud of?

- What is he least proud of?

- What does he regret most? If he had to do one thing over again, what would he re-do?

- What is the happiest day in his life?

- What is the saddest day in his life?

Question 6

by Shoe Thrower (not verified) on

Does he consider the journalist shoe thrower a patriotic man?

We can feel sorry for the man since he went to jail and all, but is JJ happy or satisfied that this happened and shoes were thrown at Bush?

default

Question 5

by Shoe Thrower (not verified) on

If he wins $10,000 (not pesos :-) what would he spend it on?

If he wins $10,000 with a restriction that he can only spend it on a sport which sport would he choose to spend it on? He has to play or at least learn to play that sport. He can't be a spectator like going to super bowl or a tennis tournament.

default

Question 4

by Shoe Thrower (not verified) on

JJ argues with a lot of people in this website. Just look around on blogs about freedom of speech and stuff. Does he think he is the one who can best define freedom of speech and stuff? Does it matter to him if his arguements may be wrong? For example, if Robert says it is day and he argues with you that no it is not it is night because it is cloudy, would it matter to him if a cloudy day is still a day? Is he flexible and humble enough to admit he may be wrong and change course? Has there been an example he can give us where he changed in i.com? Going to moderating comments from no moderating before doesn't count. I'd like to ask for another example.

Question 3

In his heart of hearts, does he want to be alone or does he want to have a girlfriend and be with someone? In his heart of hearts.

Question 2

by Shoe Thrower (not verified) on

Since he works 24/7 and doesn't have an office or anything, if a woman is interested in him what should she do to reel him in? How should she approach him to have a serious relationship with him? Assuming he likes her too.

Robert I forgot

by Shoe Thrower (not verified) on

This comment for you. Ask your uncle to sit down at a kitchen table or something with his attention to you so you can ask questions and interview him.

You can also put your camcorder on a tripod and interview him like they do on TV. He shouldn't be playing or working with his laptop like he did when you took that other video of him when he was posting photos :-) Tell him; atttteeentttiooon! look at me, look!

Question 1

If he did not have i.com what would he be doing today? What other job was he thinking about doing before he started i.com?

You need to explain to Robert what is "bikhiyal". Don't think he knows everything that we do. Remember he is 9.

By the way this applies to everyone who wants to ask questions. Make it simple. I had a professor who told us it is not important how much we know, it is important how simply we can explain something. So ask it in simple terms and hopefully JJ responds in simple terms too.

Thank you Robert

by amirkabear4u on

I have 2 questions;

1- Is he going to add Business section? I did mention this in a blog some month ago but as I am not one of his 'jon joni' friends he did not reply to it!

2- Why does iranian.com admin have the right to delete replies to blogs but not the blogs themselves? It should be one way or the other. Does he delete blogs too?

Also please provide a link for your video.

Good work.

what a great idea Robert! You Da Man!

Ask him how he learned to say "bikhiyal" to everything! Is it something he can teach us too so we don't get into so many arguments with each other...

Thanks!  :0)

by Shoe Thrower (not verified) on

Robert, what a nice project! Excellent! I'll have to think about my questions and will submit them starting tomorrow. You should also give us a deadline. Like when is the last day we can submit our questions? How about Friday afternoon being the deadline?

This is going to be fun and you are correct about not wanting to ask all questions, just those that you like. Your uncle doesn't have to respond to every question if he doesn't wish it but you have to select the questions first.

1-Are you going to be the next CEO of iranian.com ?!

2-Is JJ going to start a chat room for IC members in future?.

3-Any chance JJ tells us what are his standards for choosing/apponiting the site's moderators , will we be able to have an idea who they are, what rules & guidelines do they follow & how does he check their objectivity?.

4-......... this one he won't answer!!!

Happy new year

Robert what a really good idea and I mean that with good intention and all sincerity. And really thoughtful of you to try to protect your uncle sweetheart but he's a big guy and Im sure he can deal with evertything that comes his way.

I think we have a nephew following in his uncles footsteps here.

Ok I have a q for uncle JJ : what does he enjoy most about his work for I.com?
