I Need Help With My Persian

I studied Persian intensively in 2004 and 2005 but have really not touched it since then.  Is there anyone in the New York City area who can help me brush up on my Persian?  I can offer an exchange but at the present time am unable to pay.

My areas of professional expertise are:

Teaching of English as a Second Language, all levels, reading, writing, speaking

Speech pronunciation and accent reduction for foreigners

Public speaking

Proofreading and editing of all types of texts in English

Teaching of Spanish elementary through advanced

Translation into English from Spanish

Poetry writing

Dramaturgy of theatrical texts

Coaching of acting monologues

I am also able to offer the following:

Teaching of elementary German and French, possibly Italian

Of course, there's always my scintillating conversation...  :o)

Anyone interested, please contact me at my account by clicking on Contributors at the bottom of the home page, then clicking on my name in blue, then clicking on the contact button and sending me a private e-mail.

Thanks,
Rosie

N, It's simple, my dear, IF...

you have an excellent coach (that's me) and you are working together in person.  I can give you some pointers over the phone but I've never taught accent reduction over the phone.  Sounds challenging but we can give it a whirl.  And also I can complain to you about the horrors I have recently endured. Ah, sigh...

How does one reduce the foreign accent?  I'm sure you recall my thick Latina accent.

actually started with the Easy Persian site.  But I didn't know about the other sources.  Also I really wanted to work on conversation.  I'm a Columbia alumna and have auditing privileges there but have never been able to coordinate it with my schedule, and anyway it wouldn't be until September.  I know all about Yashater and the Encyclopedia Iranica.  Funny, wonder why he doesn't submit writings here?  Sorbonne?  You'll be getting a separate e-mail from me shortly.  Thanks so very very much.

Thanks, Ben.  I know, I remember, you're in UK.  Actually it's not a bad idea you know.  I could work on translations of texts and you could correct them.  Hopefully I'll find someone in New York, too (better hurry while this blog has it's fifteen minutes of fame) but that would be to focus mainly on conversation, so it could work to do both.  How do you want to do it, you contact me or I contact you, or shall we start to hash things out here in the public eye to show everybody what an extraordinary vehicle the Internet is for cooperation, harmony and world peace?
