Some words with friends and other people

I was teaching at the university and I loved my job a lot. Over twenty five years I was teaching and I was happy that I trained a lot of famous people, who are in the high position in other countries and in Iran. But a man named Morteza, whom I helped a lot and I thought he is a good friend, wrote a letter to the university that my mother was Bahai and I am teaching at the university to change the religion of innocent children of Moslem. I was the teacher of his teacher and in the time that he needs badly money I helped him. By getting money from of other friends of mine and lend all of them to him. In the hope that I can solve his problem and he can give the money back and soon to me. Now he was destroying me, because he thought if the government kills me, he does not need to pay the money back to me. For this reason he wrote the official letter to the university so that I will lose my job. Sorrowfully the university acted accordingly I was sent out of the university.

Few years ago that Tirabadi was in a great need, he cried so bitterly and asked so many times that I collected money and gave him. Now because of inflation and the indifference situation of Just system of Iran, he tried to destroy the capital and me. He was willing to do any action which can damage my reputation and brings him advantages. I am trying to write this story just as I wish that other people be more careful and take advantages of my experience. I cannot teach any more in Iran, so I thought in this way I can share my experience with the children of Iran.

My point of writing these short real stories is my feeling as a teacher to share these facts with other people, my students and my friends. So we can than save time and use other people experience and will help the unity of mankind to be established in the world. A world full of unity love and peace. And the people who are willing to help should be rewarded and not punished. Sorrowfully the existing system of the world will train the people to be cruel or indifferent. Who will speak or will critics will be destroyed, send to jail or executed. Or the people look at him as he is pessimistic and act negatively. So in this way cooperation will change to be indifferent and the love and unity of mankind will be a dream which cannot be reaching. The Sadi the great poem of Iran said, the human being is like the parts of one body. If one part does not work properly the other parts will be upset and cannot work efficiency any more. He meant that the human being should be united and work together to solve the problems. The people should be with each other help each other and use their power for unity and love. The have to make the life nicer and easier for each other and all people should work for the science and spiritual life.

We should love each other regardless to the nationalities, raced, religions and other man made differences. The boundaries between countries should be the boundaries of Love and Unity and not the boundaries of hate and disunity. Such billions of dollars we spent for hate is not enough?

Is it right that we are disunited and other countries are united? We should be the not united of the countries of Middle East? We are weak and alone and they are united and together. The Union of Europe, the United States of America. But the small countries and not united countries of Middle East. The red, black, white and yellow races with different religions and not religions, different back ground, from hundred different countries, they are one nations ,but we are divided to a lot of artificial countries, the Persian are divided into many countries , the Kurd also, the Balouch also.. The families are in different countries. We with the same historical back ground, with the same race, with the same religion are divided and the other people are united. You see that between the Iranian groups and Toranian groups build such a crazy disunity that they do not try to live together again. We should learn from the United States or European Union. We should be their partner also and help each other to have the peace again. We should even be united with the European Market and go up and not down.

The Shah of Iran did not give the responsibilities to all people. If he did that, may be now we had a better position in the world. A youth can be attracted in the youth year to a group of people because of their advertisements. I have a friend, who was in the youth time the fundamentalist for the communist idea; he was a very good student also. As he had some friend in Iran who were communist, and they influence to be a real rod and over heated communist. Later he got some good closed friends, who were king’s lovers. And after a while he was a Shah lover, what ever Shah said and did was perfect for him. And later he got with the religious people in contacts, and he was a real fundamentalist of Islam. He was a nice and good looking young man, and he was a very good student, but everybody like him can be influenced by the people around him. The media in this time can make from a little matter a huge event. You see from a simple man they make a great president. And they can even make from a stupid man a philosopher the century. Or to bring a murder in the place of a president. Like Sadam who killed people and became a president and continue to kill.

To attack Iran and Kuwait by Sadam was a clever thing? Or he wanted to fight with USA; was it a wise decision? It is clear if he did considered the Kurds and the Shia like the twenty present of the Sunni, he would have a much better chance to survive.

If you have a factory, it is better to have different people there, if all of them are from the same family, you will have no free condition there. As Sadam did, he gave only good position to the twenty percent Sunni and the other groups were out of the situation.

You cannot force the people to think like you or like your group. Even two brothers and two sisters are thinking differently. And they do not have the same feeling and same understanding. I saw in a family with four children, one of them was communist, the other one was nationalist and flower of Dr. Mosadegh, the third one was King lover, and the fourth was Imam Khomeini lover. So each of them regardless what parent think, go a different way. As nothing is absolute, and everything is relative.

We cannot force the people to believe our believe. Everybody should be free to think in the way he wants. We should respect the vote of the majority and respect the government of majority. We should accept the way of majority even if that is against our thinking and the way we like. Even if the majority make mistake, we cannot destroy them, we can guide them. Between people there have to be Love and Respect.

The system of the world cut our country to a lot of different countries, and now they want to divide it more. So they can rob it easier. We should be united and not fight with each other. Disunity is a dangerous matter for us. If the king of Iran has given good positions to the communist, nationalist and religionist, we had now a much better situation. But he gave only all jobs to one group of people and the people could not take part in the building of their country, so they gather in an opposition groups. As long as we do not have enough universities, technical school and mother factories, we will be more and more dependent to other countries. Every year thousand of Iranian student have gone to other countries, because they could not study here. In Europe and USA, they did not have enough money; they have more problem than in Iran. The problem of foreign language, the problem of culture and the hate of local people who do not like the foreign people especially the Middle Eastern. And they do not rent easily rooms to them, made them upset and angry about the Shah regime.

It is clear that the rich students and very smart students did not have these problems. Because they could pay more than local students and they could get easier a place to live and they could pay other local student a little bit money, and they help them with the materials. Or the very cleaver students, they could be have the attention of professors and could get some extra money to pay their costs. The whole problem was for the middle class students with normal intelligent and with normal income. So many of them in the middle of their study should come back to Iran, as there was no help for them.

Shariyar was one of my friends who after finishing the high school, he could not continue his study in the subject he wanted. Sorrowfully the entry exam of Iranian universities does not give the chance to the middle class people and middle class students to study in their subject they are good at. We were together from the six grades, only we have English teacher in the seven grades, and the rest of our classes we have no teacher with qualification in English language. They know some English and they have examined us at the end of each three months. But we do not have regular teacher or full time teacher in English and mathematics. As the teacher who knows English or mathematic could work in the private section or teach at private schools. Sometimes a student from higher classes came and teaches us. It is clear that he has not have the knowledge and experience of a real teacher. So Shariyar like me and many other students were weak in those subjects. Some time a sort of sub teacher also came and gives us some exercises.

Our mathematic teacher had only finished the eleven class of high school and he could not understand how to teach. I remember one time I asked him the different between 2x and x high 2 or x times x. he said go and read the book, you will understand it. So for this reason I learned also mathematics like geography or history by heart without understand the reason and the philosophy of it. Also for English we did the same; just copied the English words and without have any mastery of grammar, we learned just words, or we used sort of dictionary to know the meaning of the words. There was no teacher to teach us active about the English grammar and speaking. We learned also them like the poem in Persian by heart. Without any understanding of their use. And we get the minimum score for these two subjects. The only full time teacher that we have, were the teacher for history, geography, Persian, Islamic theology, biology, painting and hand working, handy craft. Sometimes we have also physic and chemistry teacher and sport teacher. Music we have only one year teacher for that subject. So in the subjects that we have full time teacher, we were OK and in other may be more important subjects we did not have full time teacher. So we did not learn them properly. And you know if you do not learn as child or youth, later it is difficult to learn.

On the twelve grade, my mother decided to send me to a good private school. The school was far and about two hours drive from our house, but we had no other choice. As this year the exams were not in the school and performed by the city. So you could easily fail, if you did not have enough knowledge. So as we did not have teacher in important science subjects, we were weak in those subjects. Shariyar finished the high school, but as he was weak in English and mathematics he could not pass the entry exam of the university and he could not study in Iran in his favorite subjects.

In this time his father died and his mother encourage him to go to the private English and German classes and prepare himself for the next year entry exam of the university. So after one year we were good in English, but the other subjects have been forgotten by us. Now we should competitive with the younger students, also rich students who had private teacher at home. So we could not pass the exams and so we decided to go to other countries to study.

Austria and Germany were the two countries that Iranian student wanted to go. The TBT bus was full of boys and girls who wanted to go outside Iran for studying. All of them could not pass the entry exam for the universities in Iran. We said to each other, look so many students are going out of Iran for studying, so we are not so alone and we are some of them also. After three days driving we reached Istanbul, this beautiful city. The TBT had reserved hotel for us and three days we had fun in this nice city, with their warm people and cheap food. After three days a German bus came and took us to Germany. Again after three more days, we were in Munich the beautiful city of Bavaria in South Germany.

After seeing Istanbul it was so interesting to see so many different countries in Europe. The company reserved in each city hotel for us and we had actually a nice time until we reached Munich. What ever we read in geography or history books now we could see them. In the night we were in Munich. This time the journey was out and we did not have any hotel to live in, we were on own and from here we should manage everything by ourselves. So we waited in the real station until next day morning. In this time the police bothered us a lot and they were very impolite to us and as we sat on the banks and started to sleep, they came and very rude touch our clothes and push or pull us. Why you are here. I could explain to them that we are waiting for the day time to do something. We came here to study. They were a little bit nicer as we could speak German. But still it was nice and interesting, that the people were so white and blond and they spoke the language that we read in the book. The little children with white skin, blond hair and blue eyes spoke the language that we have read it in the books. They were for us like moving books and pictures, and that was the first time we listening to a foreign language spoken by the people.

Audio visual method at that time was not common. We learned the German and English language from the books and our teacher may be could not speak the language, too. We learned over one year English and German extra. Now after that day I learned in Tehran, I was listening to the people who speak the words of the books I read before. The sound of the language was so nice for us. We could not sleep the whole night even later; we wanted to listen the language. Next day we were trying to rent a room close to the real station; and other Iranian boys and girls went some where. We were alone, we two. The hotel and guest houses were all full and reserved before. So we thought we go and try to rent a room in the private houses that are willing to rent a room to us. They call it pension. Or rooms for rent. The first house door we rang, an old lady opened the door and as she sees we are from Middle East, she said nixt and closed the door. Nixt means I do not have or Not. She did not even tell us a full sentence, just one word was enough to communicate with us. I realized that the German do not like Middle Eastern. And they do not want even speak with them. I came so far for learning the language, and they were not willing even to say full sentences to us. They are not like us, that we love the foreign people and their languages.

They prefer to rant the rooms to the German or European people and not to the Middle Eastern. May be they have some sort of right, as the language and culture problem will disturb them. And they do not want any problems. Because for us the different was huge, too. I thought first all German women are sort of prostitutes. As they sleep with the men without being his wife. I came from a modern religious family and now I was in the open free country. So our measurements did not match theirs at all. Some Middle East rich people misused this sexual freedom and slept as many girls and women as they could and after that they run away, and now we should be responsible for their nice life and pay their mistake as they were rich Middle Eastern and could attract very easily the young poor girls or women, but us; we have no money to pay for their entertainment and they show no interest about us. We came just to learn the language and study.

They do not rent us rooms, because they think we will cheat their girls and lie to them and make them pregnant and run away. In the Middle East the girls are more careful and they do not sleep with a man so easily like here. The girls and boy see each other in the club and dance studio or university and they go with each other, they do not need any permit of parents. So they live together for a while, they live each other or they find out they cannot live together any more, so they get married or they separate from each other. But the German told me that the people from your countries make a false friendship with our girls, they use them as a sex objects like prostitutes and after they are pregnant they run away.

Sorrowfully here they tried to persecute the boys from Middle East. First the girls who came to the rich Middle Eastern were coming because he could spend a lot of money for her. After a while may be the boy could find a better girl, with more education or more culture and or more beautiful, so he let the other girl behind, the girls do the same thing to the boy also. In the time that they find another man much better than the first one, they would let the boy behind also. So in the time that the girls left the boy; it was fine but the opposite of that was immoral and not good. Many men from Middle East also were complaining that the German girl found another man and let them behind. I agree that the rich men from any where have more possibilities; they easily get a girl friend and easily go away from her, in the time that they found other better ones.

But the old ladies were not willing to rent a room to the Middle Eastern people, because they afraid they will misuse their women. And again that was a problem for the middle class people, as the rich could buy a nice place or could rent with more money a nice place and they were not involved to rent a cheaper place from old ladies in Germany. So we should pay for their mistake, which was not fair. We rented a room in a far place that no German students would rent that. And the landlord charged us even more money than normal. So now you can imagine, a middle class student, has to rent a place which is over three hours drive from University. He loses every day more than three to four hours for the distance. Than he should prepare the food and cleaning for himself, so he will have not much time for learning. Learning in a foreign language, with not enough knowledge from the Iranian high school. And with a very limited amount of money, which is just enough for the food and rent.

Because of having not enough money, it was also difficult for us to have friendship with the German students. They preferred to have friendship with the rich foreign students who can take them to the restaurants and café. And not be friends with the foreign students who do not have even money enough for themselves. In that time the salary of an officer or a young teacher was about 800 Tomans, which was 400 Mark. And that was the salary of our parent; if one of them was working and if both of them were working; they could have together about 1600 Toman which was 800 Mark. So to pay 400 Mark for their son in Germany was not easy. And the 400 Mark was enough for a very poor life in Germany for a foreign student. A normal life for a foreign student was about 500 Mark also we had 100 Marks less every month.

After one year study there with all these difficulties, we decided to go back to Turkey to continue our study there. In the summer holiday we both went to the work office to find a job for the summer, and because both of us were students, we get a job. We got a job in the North of Germany in a Hotel named Westerland, Campen. A very beautiful place in the North Germany. The hotel was faced the beach and had a lot of nice sea sides places. It was closed to the Denmark. They gave us also a place to live, a room under the stairs and it was so small that only a bed was fitted there. And its roof was not straight either. It was a triangle shaped room. The room was a little bit bigger than a two person’s bed.

Shariyar and I worked there and as we were students and they were workers, they liked us. And get friend with some of them. After one year being in Germany none of us had a German friend. We could not have even had a girl friend. Because we do not know their culture and their attitude, so they left us very fast and very easy. They were for a short time with us and as we both were religious and did not want to misuse them, they run away.

One day Shariyar told me that he has found a girl friend. As we have no place to invite her, and the room under the stairs was only for sleeping, Shariyar decided to meet her on the beach. After one O’ Clock in the mid night Shariyar came home and said, the girl was a cheap one, after one hour that we spoke with each other, she wanted to have intercourse with me. She took off her clothes and was ready to make sex. I said to her, I wanted to be just friend with you and teach you language and culture. And I afraid how a girl will have intercourse with me after we know each other for one hour. With marriage, it is not possible. It was hard for him to have such a relationship with a girl. Another girl named Hildegard told him almost the same thing, she said to him, she want just have fun with him and she is not serious with him and she never want marry him. Shariyar told her, he can be friend with her like brother and sister. And he would accept it. But the girl said no she want to be his temporary girl friend. Just temporary, not permanent or not for a long time. Shariyar was very upset; he wanted a serious girl for marriage purpose and not a girl for fun for a short time. He told me he feels just like a male; any male; a horse male for the German females who want only sex from him.

I think why our country does not give us enough places for study that we should come here with so many difficulties to stay and study. To live in other country is so hard and difficult, especially if you are not rich and you cannot spend money enough. To stat few months is good, to learn some language, but to stay for a long time, it is very hard for the middle class Middle Eastern people.

If in the Shah time was enough universities and school in Iran, so many Iranian young people would not waste their time in other countries. We went to Turkey with the Orient express and from there we both get sick and we had also problem with the money, the Iranian money could not change easily with the Turkish lira, and the Iranian merchants who do this, wanted a lot of extra money. For example a lira was about 7 rials at that time; they wanted over 10 rials for one lira. A merchant named Mr. Manavi wanted for each lira 3 rials extra money. And as student we could not pay those differences. So we had no choice to go back to Iran. Later this Mr. Manavi advertises in Iran in a party that I was also present, that Turkey is so good and its university is so nice. And it is cheaper than Iran. I shy to say, you wanted for each Turkish Lira about fifty percent more money. And now you say that you will help the students?

Now we went back to Iran and as we know language we could easily enter the university and we finished our study at the university in Iran and we get also good jobs. But the so called revolution came in Iran and we got our part, the fruit of the glorious revolution in Iran was for us that we both lost our jobs, as we were not fundamentalist Moslems. And we had to go away from Iran, the land that we loved so much and wanted to stay there. This time we have to leave Iran, because they do not offer us jobs any more. We as experts should leave Iran, and the people without any knowledge have replaced our positions.

We wished that Iran and other countries around it with the same culture would build a nice federal republic like USA or Europe and a huge power in the Middle East will remerge from these thinly little countries in which we can study and work freely. Iran has more than ninety percent Shia, the rest of them that are less than ten percent have other believes. I do not understand how the ten percent people could be dangerous for the Islamic Shia society? So this little percent of people should have the same possibilities to work also. The Sufi, Dervish, Babies, Bahais, Zoroastrian, Christians, Jew and Sunnis…they are in minorities and they have no danger for the majorities of ninety percent? Is million of Moslem in USA or Europe can have any danger for the rest of Christian or without any religion atheist people of these countries?

So we were persecuted in Iran, because we were half Moslem, our mother was not Moslem. But here in USA we are also persecuted as we born in Middle Eastern countries.

I wished the people love each other and worked for the unity of mankind and they make the lives easier for each other and not harder. And we are just a guest for this world for few years, why we should make so many problems for each other. One time we persecute for religion, one time for nationality and one time for culture and race. That is not fair. Why we should be so cruel or indifferent to each other? The rich or super rich people will destroy the middle class even in the USA. They own a lot of possibilities and factory and media and they train the people in the way they wish. They try to change the people like more and less like robots. They want to change all people in a way that they do not bother them at all.

 All Love and Unity should be destroying in the human being. And greed, hate and disunity should replace them. They want disunity and hate war, so they can sell their materials which they store in the huge storages. They want to sell and use these materials. So we should be cleaver and be nice to each other and eliminate war and hate and bring love and unity in the world. The fight for religions, nationalities and races is useless and stupid. We are different flowers of the garden of the world. We should love and respect each other each flower is beautiful and each smell of them is nice and good. Why we should be just one type of flowers with the same smell? We should reduced each our pain and difficulties and not be indifferent to each other. Morteza took my capital , he died ; could he take my capital with himself to the grave? I hope one day we all will be nice and friendly to each other and we will make the life nice and beautiful for every body. No men will be willing to make bad action to other person any more. We all will die soon or late, why we should not let a nice name of us to stay in the world? So we should say good by to hate, greed and disunity and we should live for Love and Unity. The indifferent situation and cruel position should go away from us for ever.
