Dear Samsam

Like always you posted something worth of reading . I  should tell our friends who just read anything in form of its " surface structure" ,rather than the " deep stucture" of it, : "donot jump to conclusion w/o supporting facts".To identify better with Samsam's writing ,I suggest two books:

1- A year among Persians,by Prof.Edward Brown.

2- The history of Andalous, by ??

Thanks for the clarification. Yes, there were many "sellouts" who flattered or even helped the invaders. Their grandest of all of them was the cursed Salmane Farsi.

But their species are still alive, well and in control in Iran. The good news is that they are destroying their own ideology more than anyone has done since 1400 years ago.

If you read one more time, You will see  what I was writing about.."The Elite & Elitists" aka poets,writers,bussines folks,philosophers who promoted the alien culture ..etc.Never in it you see me mention the masses or people who Sacrificed their lives more than any other generation and were guided by the treacherous Elitists to subjugation.Ferdosi & Biruni were complaining about the same Elite in parts of their books.

You are comparing apples with oranges.

When Iran was conquered by Arabs, it was brutal. Hundreds of thousands of Iranians died defending Iran before and after the Arab conquest. Entire cities along with their population were decimated for the crime of defending their culture and religion from the Arabs.

The Arabs moved to Iran en mass. They imposed "jazieh" on Iranians. They did all sort of brutal and genocidal acts against Iran's population.

This was not so in Spain which was conquered by moslems 100 years later. At that time, moslems had already become more "civilized" due to interaction with Iranians, and so Spain was never brutalized as Iran was, nothing even close. Additionally, unlike in Iran, Spain was a backwarded country (for its time) and the conquering moslems improved many things in there.

If Iranians were treated the same way, we too would have kept our traditions and language intact.

When you belittle our ancestors despite their heoric resistance, I find it to be a disgrace and ingratitude to all of the hundreds of thousands of fallen Iranians who died defending Iran and its culture against the Arabs. They failed, but they succeeded too, since you are not speaking Arabic today.

By the way, the population of Iran was about 10 million back then. In their first 100 years, the Arabs killed more than seven hundred thousand Iranians through both wars and massacres (Ghadesieh war, Nahavand war, Estakhr massacre, Mazandaran massacre, Tisfun msassacre, Ostadesis uprising war/massacre, Jola war/massacre, and many others)

With today's numbers (70 million population), that would be as though 5 million Iranians were killed today. That would be almost 10 percent of our population. If that's not resistance, I don't know what is.

The Spanish did not and would not have offered even a fraction of that resistance.

Awakening!

Thanks Samsam, It was awakening. Meanwhile, I felt very sad for my countrymen and my country. Certainly, Herdot knew Iranians better than themselves. We Iranians flow with the current of water no matter where it goes!

prove Herdots' belief about Iranians. May we Iranians learn from other nations such as Spain who preserved their culutures and language without contamination with cultures of our enemies.
