Iranian protests: developing news

Saturday, December 26th and Sunday, December 27th mark important days in Iran. Tasooa and Ashura are the ninth and tenth days of the month of Muharram. Shia muslims commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hossein during these days annually. This year the two days have special meaning to Iranians who have used every public occasion to gather and to protest. Sunday, Ashura, coincides with the seventh day of Ayatollah Hossein Ali Montazeri's passing, an occasion which would have drawn crowds regardless. People will come out to protest. The government has done its best to discourage and intimidate people to stay home or to stay within government-sanctioned religious groups which will be holding the annual procession of mourning. Today's Friday Prayers sermons were used to tell people that protests will not be tolerated. I will be posting any news I can find about Iranian protests and developments here. Please join me in sharing news and information with others by posting your findings here. Please remember that people risk their lives to get information out of Iran on Twitter, YouTube, and through blogs. The least we can do is to take the information and to pass it on. The way we can help the unarmed, defenseless, and vulnerable people of Iran is to hear their voices and to help them be heard by others. We are the media.

Perhaps the situation has changed. Again, looking forward to photo/video evidence.

نيروي انتظامي در ميدان انقلاب جنازه يکي از کشته شدگان را از مردم گرفت در در گيري هاي امروز یکی از کشته شدگان در میدان انقلاب بر اثر شدت ضربات باتوم بر روی سرش کشته شد.
مردم جنازهی اين مرد را که حدود پنجاه سال داشت را تا چهار ولیعصر بر سر دست حمل کردند؛ اما در چهارراه ولي‌عصر نيروهاي انتظامي به مردم حمله کردند و جنازه را از آن‌ها گرفتند.
حدود نیم ساعت جنازهی این مرد گوشه‌ی خیابان ماند تا نیروهای نظامی او را با خود بردند. در حالی جنازهی این مردم نیم ساعت در گوشه‌ی خیابان بود که آمبولانس در کنارش ایستاده بود.
همچنين به نقل از يک شاهد در ميدان ولي عصر مردي در ميدان ولي عصر بر اثر اصابت گلوله بر روي زمين افتاده و ماشين نيروي انتظامي دنده عقب از روي او رد شده و بدنش را له کرده است.

دریافت کرده ایم.

گزارش شاهدان عینی از شهرهای مختلف ایران از اوجگرفتن درگیریها بین مردم و نیروهای امنیتی در روز عاشورا حکایت دارد.
بنابراین گزارشها در شهر قم و در مقابل بیت آیت الله منتظری و آیت الله
صانعی مردم شعار داده اند: این ماه ماه خون است یزید سرنکون است. در نجف
آباد مردم شعار این ماه ماه خون است سید علی سرنگون است سر داده اند.
در شهر شیراز در خیابان های منتهی به حرم شاهچراغ که محل تردد دسته های
عزاداری است از درگیری میان پلیس و مردم عزادار و معترض خبر می رسد. پلیس
در شیراز اقدام به شلیک تیر هوایی و استفاده از گاز اشک آور نموده است.

Why would Basijis ask for "personal" clothes? The vast majority take to the streets in civilian clothes.
"Shooting in air" can also mean non-lethal and less-lethal loads being expended as warning shots.
What is the exact source for the story of IRI officials exiting Iran from THR? One radio caller?
Any sources other than Jaras (and RaheSabz citing Jaras) independently reporting fatalities? (RaheSabz's previous coverage has contained reporting flaws.)
Given the extreme claims being made on Twitter and Persian radio sources, it is surprising that the IRGC hasn't activated its elite units (including the Seyed-ol-Shohada Corps), complete with tanks and APCs to enter Tehran and seize control.
Looking forward to corroborating evidence for all these claims from uploaded photos and videos. (Not disputing at this point; merely looking for evidence.)

شبکه جنبش راه سبز (جرس): نیروهای لباس شخصی و بسیج با چاقو و قمه به مردم معترض حمله ور شده اند. به گزارش خبرنگاران جرس در تهران، نیروهای لباس شخصی و بسیج به شدیدترین وجه ممکن با معترضین مقابله می کنند و علاوه بر چوب و زنجیر اینک به وسیله قمه و چاقو نیز به مرم حمله ور شده اند. گزارش ها از بروز درگیری های شدید مقابل پارک لاله و خیابان طالقانی حکایت دارد. از خیابان انقلاب خبر می رسد که مردم بخش های زیادی از این خیابان به وِزه در چهار راه ولیعصر را در کنترل خود دارند. اخبار تکمیلی متعاقبا ارسال خواهد شد.

ه گزارش شبکه اینترنتی جنبش راه سبز (جرس) در درگیری در پل کالج تهران امروز سه نفر کشته و دو تن زخمی شدند.
به گزارش خبرنگار جرس، که می گوید خود در صحنه حاضر بوده است، این سه تن در پل کالج با شلیک مستقیم نیرهای نظامی کشته شدند. همین خبر می گوید دو تن دیگر از مردم توسط لباس شخصی ها به شدت زخمی
شده اند.
خبرگزاری آسوشیتد پرس نیز به نقل از شاهدان عینی گزارش داده است که یک نفر در تهران با شلیک نیروهای امنیتی کشته شده است. آسوشیتد پرس هنوز توضیح بیشتری در این باره نداده است.
