Kurdistan general strikes: developing news

There is news that Kurdistan Province has started a general strike to protest the May 9 executions of Farzad Kamangar, Shirin Alam Hooli, Mehdi Hosseinian, Farhad Vakili, and Ali Heydarian at Evin Prison, four of whom were Kurdish activists. The abrupt and unannounced executions have created a wave of anger nationwide. It is likely that there will be show-downs and confrontations in that region as Kurdistan residents show their objection to the executions and IRI tries to restore order and establish control. There is little official news coming out of Iran about the tensions in Kurdistan and there is only chatter on unofficial blogs and Twitter or FriendFeed about the developments. If you hear anything, please post it here. Please help get the voices out of Iran. Please remain cognizant of separatist propaganda, as these are sensitive times for Iran, and we have to all act responsibly and stay together as a nation trying to overcome a difficult time. Please share the news. We are the media.

بازار شهر سنندج کاملا تعطيل شد. ماموران اماکن به زور ميخواستند مردم را وادار کنند مغازه ها را باز کنند٬ مردم مقاومت کردند و بازاريکپارچه تعطيل شد. پاساژ هاي شهر سنندج بسته شده اند. نگهبانهاي پاساژها را تحت فشار گذاشته اند تا کار را ادامه دهند. خيابان ششم بهمن٬ ميدان آزادي و ميدان انقلاب٬ خيابان سيروس ٬ نمکي همه يکپارچه تعطيل است. اخبار حاکي از اين است که تمام شهر يکپارچه تعطيل است. دانشگاه آزاد ٬تعطيل است. خيابان سعيدي مردم به اعتصاب پيوسته اند و مغازه ها همگي بسته شده اند.

امروز برای شهرهای کردنشین کشور روزمتفاوتی است طبق اخرین اخبار موج اعتصاب این شهرها را فلج کرده است امید وارم با اطلاع رسانی درست صدای مردم رنجدیده کرد را به گوش جهانیان برسانیم زیرا جمهوری اسلامی نشان داده است از خونریزی و جنایت باکی ندارد. ۱۲ زندانی کرد دیگر با اتهاماتی واهی مانند مفسد فی الارض و اقدام علیه امنیت ملی در لیست سیاه جوخه های اعدام قرار دارند که نه دسترسی به وکیل دارند ونه صدایشان را کسی می شنود. تنها امید انها ماها هستیم

by Shifteh Ansari on Thu May 13, 2010 01:08 AM PDTمردم انقلابي شهر مريوان متحدانه و سراسر در اعتصاب بسر مي برند. بر اساس خبري كه هم اكنون به دست ما رسيده است تمام اماكن كسب در پاساژهاي زاگرس، مولوي، ميلاد، مجتمع كردستان، پاساژهاي احمد نجار، حمه چاوا، حاجي ويسي، جاجي عمر، چهار راه اصلي بسوي آموزش و پرورش، شبرنگ به سمت دار سيران، خيابان حاكي، چهار راه بايوه به طرف ميدان استاديوم به كلي تعطيل است در بازار اورامي ها بيش از 80 درصد مغازه ها تعطيل مي باشد. فضلي شهر كاملا ميليتاريزه شده است و ماموران امنيتي و اماكن رژيم اقدام به فيلمبرداري از سطح شهر نموده اند.

According to Daneshjoo News, on May 12, 2010, students at the University of Kurdistan went on hunger strike to protest the inhuman execution of Farzad Kamangar, Shirin Alam Hooli, Farhad Vakili, Mehdi Eslamian, and Ali Heydarian. To demonstrate their protest, the students left their uneaten lunch in the cafeteria or outside the school building.
After the executions on May 9, 2010, there has been a heavier presence of security forces at the University of Kurdistan. A number of activists have been confronted with phone calls by anonymous forces who have threatened them with arrest.
