This list I believe includes only "Iranian born" iranians
by Roozbeh_Gilani on Mon Apr 11, 2011 01:26 PM PDTIf you include the offsprings, born in USA, the numbers would be much higher. Then on top of that we have Iranian kids born to Iranian fathers and American mothers.
Also the influence of an ethnic group on USA is not necessarily a function of their population. Case in point, Chinese, Koreans or Indians, far outnumbered by Mexican immigrants. I did not mention the jews, just in case people start calling me a zionist or mossad agent!

this list must be
by hamsade ghadimi on Mon Apr 11, 2011 12:41 PM PDTthis list must be incomplete. the numbers don't add up (or at least to a very small number 130,000). isn't there supposed to be more than half million in southern california alone?

by David ET on Mon Apr 11, 2011 11:01 AM PDTLos Angeles CITY population is 3,694,820, therefore 1.2% adds up to: 44,337 but then that is only the city, to calculate the county all other cities like Beverly Hills, Glendale, etc etc should be added and the list above reflects only the top 101 cities in US.
I presume the data are gathered from 2010 US Census. Not to mention so many still did not mention they are of Iranian background in the census.
Yeah?
by Ali P. on Mon Apr 11, 2011 09:39 AM PDTDo we know how they gathered this information?
My birth place is mentioned in my passport,...and, in Facebook, I think.
Anyway, please let us know, if anyone knows the answer to my question.
I think the reason CA is not #1 in this chart, is because many residents of CA- whom we consider Iranians- were not actually born in Iran, rather born into an Iranian family in CA.
Thanks,
Ali P.
Los Angeles is 1.2 percent Iranian
by Escape on Mon Apr 11, 2011 09:21 AM PDTSo much for the Myth of Tehrangeles..And the numbers given are the total population. In other words,a large Iranian family lives in Piperton..
I wonder if that's like a cult belief, believing in Tehrangeles?
Why are 589 Iranians living in Piperton, TN?!

by Soosan Khanoom on Mon Apr 11, 2011 05:38 AM PDTI should add this that the first generation Iranians are in constant denial..... hopefully second generation is going to be more happy cause I know they are seeing this country as their own and they have no desire to go back and live in Iran ....... although I should say that the first generation has also no desire to go back and live there but rather occasional field trips to their Aryain land but they have a big ego and a huge hate in them that won't let them live in peace with NOW ...... the majority either is living in the past or in the future ......... but God forbid they should not live in " NOW " ...... with this attitude they are destroying their own lives also making a fool of themselves on front of the second generation .....
Now I better run for a shelter before the ones here on this site starting throwing their keyboards at me :)
