On his speech on Thursday, he didn't say pre-67 ...either. Our Jewish friends got overly nervous on a well-prepared( I should say a very well-prepared) remark on that day which had left enough leverage for ME-style diplomacy.

America will never force Israel to the original international borders; now the "swap" is the key word.........for which the Israeli government has to negotiate on two fronts inside, and outside. I don't remember any other American president ever gone that far.........we all know that the first president Bush became a one-timer for his similar stand; only implied, but never expressed.

       How about explicitly stating that Israel should withdraw to its pre- 1967 borders ?

       Is this not what he had previously said  and now he is changing his words because the powerful Istaeli lobby raised hell ?   I did not hear him mention anything about the illegality of building jewish settlements on Palestinian lands .

       I like Obama ......but he sure is trying too hard to appease the jewish lobby . In all fairness, it takes both sides to agree with a  resolution leading to lasting peace!
