The job of the Iranian army under the Shah was to keep the country safe and secure from the enemies without, which they did, for 25 years; the collapse was due to the treason of enemies, within, and those who followed and cheered for the Imam.

The subject of Shah's great spendings on weapons was one of the biggest critics of shah's opponents before 1979. Later on it was thanks to these weapons that IR could push Iraqi army back behind the border. Without theses weapons Iraq would have captured the whole country!!
