My wife and I recently relocated to Orange County, California. We’re a “young” couple in our 50’s with three grown children. We’d like to meet other mature but fun people with similar interests. We are culturally diverse, my being Persian and my wife being American. My wife is interested in learning more about the Persian culture and already makes a mean maast-o-khiar and loobia pulow and is interested in learning more! I’ve been teaching her “takht-e nard” and she’s already kicking my butt (once in awhile)! She’s interested in learning more Persian as well. We don’t know many people here but have always enjoyed being socially active. We love the Blues… almost any kind of music! We enjoy camping, cooking, and cruising the Pacific Coast Highway. If you live in the area and think you’d be interested in exchanging information… please leave a message.

Our Voices
by Sasha on Wed Oct 31, 2007 02:42 PM PDTYes, I have noticed more women commenting. I just love it. We women need to voice our opinions. Yes, I just love Rosie's comments. The women has "balls". Ha! Ha! I only hope I am as tough as she is after a couple of years on iranian.com.
Best,

by Tonya (not verified) on Wed Oct 31, 2007 02:28 PM PDTThis is starting to be fun again! I'm seeing more and more comments by women. Or perhaps I just never noticed them before. God knows it could use a little rational reasoning...lol. I've read Rosie's comments on several issues and she offers an extremely witty and different point of view. I've enjoyed your posts as well and look forward to seeing more of them!
Howdy!
by Sasha on Wed Oct 31, 2007 02:17 PM PDTHowdy!
I would love to stay in touch. About the picture thing, JJ did not realize I had put up a picture of me. He actually took the trouble to get me a clearer picture of a Mustang since that is the last thing he remembered I had.
We can upload a picture of us. However, I mentioned it to Rosie T. another iranian.com reader. She did get to see a picture and thought it might not be such a good idea to repost a photo of me because as she put it my beauty would attract to me crazy men. Ha! Ha!
I decided she made a good point and chose to leave the Mustang. However, since some readers keep confusing my name Sasha with being a guy, having a Mustang will only add to the confusion.
I am so going to miss the photo of the Cobra Mustang but alas I must find a better photo.
Best, :o)

What with the move itself and a new job and just getting acclimated to a whole new world... we haven't really had a chance to meet many people. Actually, to be perfectly honest, I'm really just enjoying my time with Majid...and don't want to share him...lol. We're going back home to the East coast in a couple of weeks but when we get back I'm going to get serious about my lessons. It is such a beautiful language! I look forward to hearing from you again. I'd love to stay in touch!
Tonya: You are not going to believe it.
by Sasha on Tue Oct 30, 2007 05:46 PM PDTI had a small picture of me on my account and they went in there and changed it to a Mustang which was what I originally had. Wow! I guess we are to remain anonymous. I must say I like the picture of the Mustang they used better.
Hey! How you doing?
by Sasha on Tue Oct 30, 2007 04:53 PM PDTHi! Tonya,
How I wish I lived in Orange County and we could learn about Iranian culture together. What can I say " I am a Texan and damn proud of it" I actually thought of moving to the Orange County but my son wants to graduate from the Texas high school he is at. He is in 11 th grade this year.
If you access my name, you can check my bio and see a itty bitty picture of me.
Take care
Natasha

by snk (not verified) on Thu Oct 04, 2007 01:18 AM PDTto find Iranian culture outside of Iran, you are in right place. you can get involved with NIPOC. Network of Iranian American Professionals of Orange County. //www.nipoc.org/. I would recommend Mehregan Festival on October 13, 14.
