Since the election in Iran one of the sites I have been checking for news has been:
//news.political-articles.net/ (all in Farsi)
Yesterday I saw an entry there, Mordad-28, that caught my eyes. It was not about Iran and I wondred what it was doing there. That entry was about Hamas marrying 450 child brides (6-10) to guys 16-36 years old. Beside reporting it, they included a video and lots of pictures. I read the very brief report, watched the video and looked at the pictures. I was disgusted and wondered what kind of image is Hamas trying to create this time around. It just didn't make sense to do that and in such large scale.
I then Googled the following words: hamas marriage children
Results were mostly bloggers reporting same report similar to what I had found at news.political-articles.net. Mostly were from anti-muslem and anti-arab bloggers. But then I noticed few articles similar to these::

by Why-Not on Sat Aug 22, 2009 02:06 PM PDTMost folks who do comment on this site are haters of Arabs and Islam. All they know about Iran is what they are fed. And all of them have great many ideas to free Iran. Neshetan inja va migan, Lengesh Kon.
Thank you.
What a defeaning silence !
by Setareh Cheshmakzan on Sat Aug 22, 2009 08:16 AM PDTThis blog has had 37 reads and no comments!!! What does that say about the audience of this website and their concern for truth? Those people who use the mass movement in Iran to insinuate hatred against Palestinians and Lebanese, lyingly accusing them of thuggery, rape and murder in Iran (as if we don't have our home brand thugs and rapists and murderers in a population of 70 million!!), without the slightest concern for evidence, would not care that this hugely publicized attack on Hamas is also a sinister lie.
Professor Nayereh Tohidi, Chair of the Department of Gender and Women's Studies of California State University has commented on this perverse and vicious Zionist propaganda that:
"This is not true. If we circulate false information, we will lose our credibility.
See this explanation and clarification below. When I received it first time, I was shocked but knew there must be some explanation as it did not make any sense, especially the way those little girls and the grooms all in modern clothing and the whole dancing and music, etc. could not go with the story the initial propaganda had wanted us to believe. Thos who have some anthropological knowledge of the Middle East region could not buy the English caption of the pictures and the video. Later I also saw a video and knowing a little Arabic could also help us to hear the conversation in the video and guess what was going on. Even in the US, some people use little girls and boys in bride and groom dresses in wedding ceremonies.
One lesson for us is that we need to be careful in circulating such postings without further exploration and questioning of the motives behind the widespread anti-Palestinians campaigns. Palestinian culture is still very patriarchal, but they are modern enough not to go back to 1400 years ago when the marriage age was the age of puberty, that is age 13-15 for boys and 9 for girls (even then it was not 6 or 7 as the posting implied)".
