He can draw any cartoon and say anything he wants and that is his right. If you get offended by it, then that is too bad. You probably need to grow up.

He did this for the same reason Salman Rushdie did: to get attention and money. It's a great way to avoid having to be creative and original. It's easy to make fun of religions. 

I don't feel sorry for this guy. These reactions are exactly what he wanted. Lap it up Lars.

Freedom of speech is suppose to be based on freedom as long as it doesn't hurt or disturb others. This is being violated here.

Would insulting some nationalities or ethnic population be accepted? Conceptually this is similar.
