Watching this clip and baffled by finding any relevance to the title and body of the blog to the clip.
Is it a case of honest mistake and putting up the wrong clip/link or ?!?!?!?
But also a few thoughts in relation to our dear member's comments;
Should we judge the past regime based on its own merits or by a way of comparison to the current regime/system?
If it is by a way of comparison, then there is hardly any room for arguments and I suspect even the Akhoonds themselves will concede they have fucked up grandly.
But if we believe we as Iranians can do and deserve better and not just social freedom but political freedom including political independence from foreign entities (i.e. not to be somebody else’s bitch) then we will know the past regime had failed us grandly.

The begining
by Cost-of-Progress on Thu Jun 07, 2012 09:39 AM PDTThis is how the criminal enterprise known as the islamic regime eliminated potential resistance that had not even come yet: nip it in the bud, as the saying goes. These mofo's were smart then and are smart now; not in a sense of governance and competence, but how to to steal and maintain power.
Now after 33 years or so, even those who are seemingly "progressive" right here on this website giveaway their backwardness day after day.
Agree with OY: you get what you deserve - while others move froward, we took a huge step backward in 1979 and continue to crawfish.......
Congrats.

by hamsade ghadimi on Thu Jun 07, 2012 06:41 AM PDTthis is the "golden age" of reformers: khatami, mousavi, karoubi and company. not much has changed in the mindset of these thugs while certain elements, today, want the west to negotiate with them and normalize relations.

Many brave and patriotic men were murdered by the thugs of this Regime. General Jahanbani's brief defense is a great example of the courage of these soldiers of Iran.

by anglophile on Thu Jun 07, 2012 06:20 AM PDTLet us not forget that the current groups who pretend to be human rights activists and democracy lovers and their former generation were standing by and basking in the glory of their revolutionary achievments.
Never again must we allow these criminal collaborators to steal our quest for freedom.
I agree

by MRX1 on Wed Jun 06, 2012 08:22 PM PDTwith the posting of 'oon yaroo'. Too many good and patriotic men of arm forces got killed for serving the nation and the people that did not deserve their services or their patriotism.

Extremely heartwrenching to see this! Brings back sad memories!
by Oon Yaroo on Wed Jun 06, 2012 04:52 PM PDTAs much as the foreign elements played a role in the demise of the Iranian Army and massacring of its brave leaders and members but deep down the responsibility of those crimes fall fair and square on the shoulders of Iranian people.
Iranians are pathologically unpatriotic and indifferent! And, deservedly they are being ruled by a bunch of criminals!
