Sarbaaz Shaheed rah mah... "Shaheed" is an Arabic term
by John Carpenter III (not verified) on Wed Apr 16, 2008 07:09 AM PDT"Sarbaaz Shaheed rah mah..."
"Shaheed" is the Arabic term for martyr. Why does Fereydoun Farrokhzad use the Arabic term? Is he being Islamic?
Was he trying to bring about a Revolution in 1979 in Iran?
And what is this about "Tudeh"? Was Fereydoun Farrokhzad a communist?
"Meeyaneh mosht Tudeh-ha"?
"sarbaaz vatan kojast"
"Vatan" is the Arabic word for country. the Farsi word is Meehan. Was Fereydoun Farrokhzad calling Ayat'ALLAH Khomayni from exile in France?
This guy was surely confused.
He was an artist

Lonely are the Brave!
by Arya Pournourbakhsh on Wed Apr 16, 2008 05:01 AM PDTFarrokhzad. Yet another talent destroyed by the hands of the mullahs. All because of what he was thinking. Farrokhzad always said it simple, but meaningful. He always spoke the truth. He would have never stopped his love for Iran and Iranians. That's why they killed him. He did not die. He was murdured.
It is ironic to see him sing about sarbaz. All those uniformed sarbaz together had less courage than him a civilian with no weapons. Instead of standing their posts to defend the constitution of Iran, they took off their uniform and hid like chickens. Handful of the braves that stood their ground were killed one by one. Farrokhzad was one of them.
I don't care about his religion, sexual preference or his looks. I don't even like his singing. What I adore is his zeal, his courage, his love for Iran. his bravery. He had a true talent to entertain. He used it to try to wake his country men up. They killed him!
Rest in Peace. You and all the braves will not be forgotten. Long live Iran.
A. Pournourbakhsh

True Patriot
by Darius Kadivar on Wed Apr 16, 2008 02:04 AM PDTFarrokhzad was one of the Bravest and most outspoken Iranians. He was a Patriot but before even that he was a Humanist. He was slandered by the IRI and jealous colleagues for his would be sexual ambiguity and preferences as if he had to justify himself for that !
He belonged to the talented family of poets and writers and was the brother of Forough Farrokhzad the leading feminist poet of Iran and of Pouran Farrokhzadalso a poet and a wonderful woman who still lives in Iran and bravely puts up with the grief of losing her siblings. I had a chance to speak to her last year and was amazed by her courage, stamina and Humanity. A True characteristic of this family two of which died in tragic circumstances.
Dorood Bar To Farrokhzad, you will not be forgotten for you were the Bravest of them All.
As the Saying goes "Lonely are the Brave !"
Peace be upon him
