At last, the truth comes out!

Balatarin

Finally, the truth has come out.

The massive efforts to destroy NIAC and silence the Iranian-American voice for peace did not come from within our own community. As this remarkable new exposé reveals, this campaign was funded, directed and coordinated by a small but powerful group of prominent pro-war neoconservatives. It was headed by Daniel Pipes, a longtime advocate of the Mujahedin and war against Iran.

As you will see, their own emails reveal that these neoconservatives instructed Iranian writers what to write against NIAC, how to write it, and where to publish it. (There efforts are visible right here on Iranian.com, by a small but vocal click.)

This was not done on a shoe-string budget. They spent several million dollars to silence the voice of Iranian Americans, starting with NIAC. People like Sheldon Adelson the billionaire who tried to buy the last election - footed the bill.

These elements do not want Iranian Americans to have an independent voice in the United States - and they certainly don't want an effective Iranian-American voice that stands in the way of their dreams of war.

Despite spending millions of dollars, their scorched-earth campaign has failed to destroy us.

We are here. We are strong. And we are growing!

But there is a difference between their failure and our success.  At the beginning of this month, we set a goal of raising $100,000 to help make 2013 a turning point for peace, not another war.

So far, we have raised $75,000. We can still meet our goal, but not without your support.

Help strengthen our voice by making a generous contribution of $100 or an amount right for you.  All contributions are tax-deductible and help us to keep building a strong Iranian-American voice for peace in Washington, DC.

Thank you and have a great 2013!

Thanks friends.

Just a quick note: I welcome an open and constructive conversation (time permitting) with friends and critics alike. However, mindful of the funds spent by right-wing PR firms on people to post defamatory comments about myself and NIAC and their objective to completely eliminate any chance for a constructive dialogue on most issues in the Iranian-American community, accusatory and defamatory comments will not be tolerated, particularly if they are made by anonymous commentators.

Constructive dialogue is central to a democratic culture's survival and sustainability. Destructive approaches - such as those taken by Mccarthyite outlets such as many LA Satellite TVs and Fox News - are a threat to healthy dialogue and set back our community's ability to through reason resolve issues and make progress.

Defamation, hate speech and slander are not free speech. I will do my best - time permitting - to ensure that dialogue on my posts are open, healthy and civilized.

I hope to post something soon on sanctions and welcome a constructive dialogue ON SUBSTANCE on this very important topic for our community.

Sepas!

Dorood Trita,

What do you think of PAAIA? Are they a legitimate lobby or a pro-war right-wing group?

@tparsi I am glad that you've decided to blog and comments on your blogs yourself. There was no such opportunity in the old iranian.com. There are a lot of people here who obviously do not like you and so they can't bring themselves to write a comment without taking stabs and pot shots to say that they are alive!

Ok so they are alive! They can write as their hearts desire, "Toop", high five, fist pump and tarof tea to each other! Is ok!

The rest of us would like to see you live and in person. There may not be a reason to have a discussion about the topic of this blog or a "constructive dialoge on substance" as you've mentioned. I for one can't think of one right now, but there will come many times that Iran will once again be front and center and I would like to have a constructive and meaningful discussions. So for those occasions I hope you stay live and be engaged.

Those of us who come here to become a martyr on this blog will forever hold their peace! It's straight out of Islamic Republic's martydom operations!

How interesting that one of the antagonists on Iranian.com you allude to, Fred, doesn't delete comments or block users, even when such comments are irrelevant and abusive. You could learn from him to have a thicker skin

Thicker skin?! Take a look at the front page and see how many blogs are against him. Is there a "shortage"?!

Dear Trita,

Iranian Americans do not want a war. A war that will bring nothing but devastation to Iran and our loved ones.
Iranian American however want regime change in Iran. If you represent us you cannot be distracted fighting the regimes mortal enemies like AIPAC and the MKO. You cannot fight any effort to put pressure on the regime. Iranian Americans find the Islamic Republic to be their true enemy.

The 'truth' has always been 'out' since the beginning of our creations. For instance, long before the Pipes' advent public exposure a 'Pipe' of his had been spreading poisonous pro-war venom twice a day on this site itself!

"truth has (now) arrived, and falsehood perished: for falsehood is (by its nature) bound to perish." (Quran 17:81)

Dear Trita,

Thank you for establishing and maintaining such a great organization. As an Iranian - American I could not be more proud. We needed a voice and most importantly we needed it in DC and you are a great example of that. The best thing you have ever done was encouraging the Iranian-Americans to vote. U.S. congress and U.S. president should know that the Iranian-Americans do NOT want a war on Iran. Of course we need to be heard and that is why we need NIAC. Furthermore, I support anyone who is against any war, especially, a pre-emptive one on my motherland proposed by BiBi and pushed by AIPAC.

Having AIPAC as NIAC's number one enemy in DC as well as on this site says it all. You have my full support dear Trita, therefore, joining NIAC is going to be my new year resolution.

Thank You & Happy New Year

HSK

Blessed are the peacemakers .....

The irony here is, Mr. Parsi, that you speak of those who try to silence you, when you're the person who deletes and blocks those who post comments that are critical of your organization. see below, and the deleted comment of Rozbeh Gilani. Unless the comment contained a personal attack against you (personally) or profanity, why did you delete it and block the user? Care to explain? An explanation will help boost your credibility and the credibility of your organization.

Also, can you please explain why you include those email addresses (such as mine that you obtained from Iranian.com) as "subscribers" and supporters of your organization?

Incidentally, I will go ahead and blog this comment in case you feel like deleting and blocking me as well.
