Charmed

Although Peru is likely to be forever synonymous with the Incas, who built the breath-taking city of Machu Picchu in the Andes, it offers much more. We were constantly charmed by hospitality, warmth and kindness of people. These are some of the pictures we took in our recent adventure to Peru. We hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed living and experiencing them.

Sunset in Lima
Faces in small towns and villages along the sacred valley of the Incas
Room with a view
A day in market
Christmas Eve and Santuranticuy Festival, one of the largest arts and crafts fairs in Peru. Hundreds of artisans lay out blankets in the Plaza de Armas and sell carved Nativity figures saintsí images plus ceramics and altars.
Views from cafÈ Baghdad with attractive balcony over looking the plaza
You never find it U.S, Coca leaf tea. But great remedy for soroche or altitude sickness.
Inca Ruins near Cusco and places along Urubamba River
On our way from Ollantaytambo toward snow capped mountains.
The Inca hid Machu Picchu so high in the clouds that is escaped destruction of conquistadors. It finally revealed to the world on 1911 by Hiram Bingham (an archaeologist at Yale university) with the aid of local farmer
I am taking it all in after 2 days of hiking in Inca trail, paying my respect to Initi and Pachamama (Sun god and Mother earth)
