| I happened to be in Tehran during the Contemporary Arts Museum exhibition of a collection that hasn't been displayed together since 1979. The collection includes pieces from Lichtenstein, Picasso as well as Warhol's Mick Jagger and Mao.
The museum is a wonderful building with a theater and a permanent collection set on a well groomed garden. The staff are very knowledgable and dedicated. Since carmeras aren't allowed in the building, these are pictures I took from the post cards available at the museum shop. Clearly, the originals are even more stunning. If you're in Tehran, you should make time to go to this as well as the Rug Museum next door. |
