According to an Iranian reporter, Delara Darabi and few of her prisonmates were punished for celebrating Delara’s birthday in prison.
Delara’s friends tried to hold a small birthday to cheer up Delara because she has been suffering from depression. Delara’s birthday coincided with the same day as the death of first Muslim shia Imam, Ali. The prison authrities used this excuse to interrupt the small ceremony and took Delara and her prisonmates for questioning. Meanwhile, Delara and her friends visitation rights has been taken away.
Stop Child Executions campaign strongly condemns violation of Delara Darabi’s and her prisonmates rights while imprisoned and demand dropping all charges as well as reinstatement of their visitation rights.
