Dear fellow Persians/Iranians,
I need your help. I am planning on travelling to Iran after 16 years. I recently dropped the second part to my last name (it was hyphenated and way too long). Now, in my Iranian passport my name is Sahar Jafarian. However, in my American passport, it is Sahar Jafarian-xxxxx (I choose not to reveal it).
I am wondering how this is going to work when I am ready to purchase my plane ticket. From U.S to Europe, I will use my American Passport and from
Europe to Iran, I have been told to use my Iranian passport. Will I run into any problems because of my last name being different in my passports? Should I buy two different tickets?
I would change my last name here officially but I do not have time – my father is very ill and I need to get to him before his surgery. Any advice/suggestions is greatly appreciated.
