I was watching a movie (a movie brought over from Iran)…and in one scene the guy asks the girl “Vakeelam?”. I don’t understand this. I thought that word is usually used by a clergy when there is wedding/aghd. Yet, in this movie the guy and the girl are in the park and he asks her that question. She then shly looks away…. Does he want to marry her right there? Or am I totally off? Or is that how guys propose in Iran?
Anyway, I’d appreciate it if someone that has a better understanding of the Iranian culture/language and doesn’t mind explaining to clear my confusion.
