By contrast, he witnessed the disingenuous denials that his nation had been transformed into a predatory Empire in the course of the Cold War, and later the brazen promotion and projection of American power, obfuscated and sold to the American people in the name of ‘humanitarian intervention’ and ‘democracy promotion’.
