What pair of shoes should I choose
For the upcoming dandy dance?
Are my feet better off in blue
Bright shoes or black buckle shoes?
What of these fancy cocktail shoes?
Look, there’s a paper stuck
To my pretty pointy shoes
Can you see the hand writing
On this intriguing refuse?
This is what I think it says:
Hell is but, I can taste it,
A span of life so wasted
In the worry for the shoes
When the feet are wholly bare
Of the thought of wandering
Across the desert of love.
