My love affair with Hafez started in my late 20’s and has grown stronger and deeper over the years. Hafez is the poet of Iranian souls. Almost everybody reads Hafez and everybody understands him in his or her own ways. His wisdom and messages of hope are constant sources of consultation and comfort by so many Iranians. During longer autumn and winter nights, reading Hafez is a particularly comforting pastime of mine.
Recently I came across a great Hafez site. It’s called Neyestan Jam. You can pick the poem you like to read, and it will appear in a beautiful calligraphy pane. You will also hear Ali Moussavi Garmaroudi recite the poem correctly with sweet music in the background.
