As a Parent, one can not but be cognizant of the kind of society our children are growing up in.; one where just about every influence seems negative for children who like sponges, are an easy target of every influence good or bad. The following is a good reminder of this fact, in this case Positive.
What Makes a Father and Mother’s Day; Email from our Eight Year old Son’s Teacher:
I just wanted to share with you how special Kamran was today. he came into school very focused, calm..unpacked by himself, came in quietly to morning meeting and when it was time to share..he raised his hand and told the class that he wanted to teach them about unity. He got up and started telling everyone that we are all one and we are all beautiful. he pointed out that even though we are all different colors we are all the same and we are all beautiful. he even sang a song about unity. he was saying that anytime you feel down or sad you can pray. I was amazed by this!!! i told him that he was very smart and that he is sharing things with the class that many adults still do not understand…emphasizing that he is very smart and knows a lot of “big kid” stuff. he had a great day throughout the rest of the day..very calm and kind..peaceful really. It was really amazing to see him share this with the group with such passion and interest…i wish i could have videotaped the moment. he is such a great kid! You are teaching him some great stuff at home keep it up so that maybe we can have another unity lecture from Kamran…maybe next week perhaps:) ~MK
