“This I Won’t Do.”

In case you didn’t know, Israel has more than one person living in it.  True, it seems we only hear that one peson’s voice on this website 24/7, but here you can see Israeli conscientious objectors who were protesting their country’s decision to carry out attacks on civilians in Gaza and were refusing to serve in the Israeli army.  Video shows a protest in Tel Aviv on January 8th.  The consequences these courageous individuals face are grave and severe.  One of them says:  “You need a lot of courage to step out of the line and say: ‘Sorry, enough.  This I won’t do.  In this I won’t participate.  This is not being done in my name.'”

The circumstances of this particular military operation were so gruesome, so unfair, and so inhumane, even Israelis whose “safety” and “security” are supposedly being maintained and preserved are objecting and protesting it.  People, don’t let one hateful person make you lose your respect and sympathy for other Israelis and for all peace loving Jews all over the world.
