When my sister told me we were going to see Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker ballet one recent Sunday I was like, no, not again! I had seen it performed at least twice before in two different cities in the U.S. and I couldn’t get my excitement up for a third time, this time in Chihuahua, Mexico. At the same time though, I was curious: the artistic director of the ballet was my sister’s friend, Paola Murga de Zavala ( in black), who brings The Nutcracker to the city’s main stage – Teatro de los Héroes — every year. I had to see it. And I’m so glad I did. It was a beautiful, elegant, dreamy production. Afterwards we had dinner with Paola and her dancers. What a kind, lovely and talented bunch. I’m staying in Mexico folks :o) For now at least. (Today I was searching online for rooms for rent in Granada, Spain. Very affordable!) 1234 next › last »
