One of ELP’s most popular songs which became the theme for CBS Sports Spetacular, was “Fanfare for a Common Man.” Two years ago at the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano opening of CIRCA (a spin off of YES) I watched in “amazed amusement” as a friend introduced Keith Emerson to a Los Angeles keyboardist in a YES cover band and told Keith that the cover keyboardist is “the best keyboardist in Los Angeles” not knowing that Keith was then residing in Los Angeles. Keith just laughed and said how pleased he was to meet the best keyboardist in Los Angeles. 🙂
