The British political magaizine “New Statesman” has selected Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf as one of the 10 people of 2009 who could change the world.
Qalibaf was also selected as one of the 10 best mayors in the world in 2008 by worldmayor.com.
I don’t know much about him, but I am somewhat surprised to hear that he is well regarded as a mayor. I’d like to hear what Iranian.com readers who have been to Tehran recently or have spoken with relatives who live there, think of Qalibaf as a mayor? Has he really done anything to improve the city? Do Tehranis have a positive opinion of him?
Thanks for your feedback.
