Iran soccer coach resigns after hooligan comment

Iranian state television says the country’s new soccer coach has resigned just two weeks after being appointed to the post. The Tuesday report quoted the head of Iran’s soccer federation, Ali Kafashian, as saying Mohammed Mayely-Kohan resigned after disputes with supporters of a prominent club team affected the national team. On Sunday, Mayely-Kohan called the supporters of Esteqlal “hooligans” and criticized the team’s manager for his alleged incompetence
