The successful Musical starred Welsh actor Richard Burton as King Arthur, British actress Julie Andrews as Guinevere and Canadian Robert Goulet as Sir Lancelot. The Sucessful play was later made into an MGM motion Picture with Richard Harris Vanessa Redgrave and Franco Nero in the title roles in 1967 the same year as the . Camelot’s musical was also associated to the Kennedy years at the White House as it was a favorite of Jakie and John Kennedy who hosted the first glamourous White House State Dinners during their shortlived presidency.
