Looking at all the pictures and events surrounding the ‘election’ in Iran, I could not help but notice how creative and vibrant our young people are. Once again, they are given a glimpse of ‘freedom’ and are being used by the candidates of both sides to draw attention to this show.
A few weeks from now, they have to deal with reality of life for young people in Iran; lack of work, lack of opportunity for progress. In the era of ‘hope’ for ‘change’ across the globe, I can only feel sorry for such generation of Iranians who become the ‘pawns’ of powers to be every four years. Would they ever reach their dreams of being as vibrant, creative and useful as their counter-parts elsewhere? I am sure someday they will. I only hope that I am still alive to see that day. Till that day, I only hope that ‘youth is not wasted on the young’
