Debate Trita Parsi and David Makovsky

I was somewhat concerned about the comment of the Israeli Foreign Minister in saying that Iran cannot change. I think we’re actually witnessing right now a tremendous process in Iran that has a promise of change, particularly if those who are calling into question the result of the vote end up being successful, because that means that it is not so that Iran is a constant, that at the end of the day the Supreme Leader always will win the battles. It means that there is an intense struggle inside that country about its identity, about its nature and about its future. One should not make any assumptions that essentially deprive the international community and Israel itself of various options, of various opportunities.
