While newspapers and the state-run television of the Islamic Republic of Iran try to attribute the recent violence to reformist presidential candidate Mir-Hossein Mousavi’s supporters, the conclusions of an investigative Majlis committee stress the direct interference of counter-insurgency and plainclothesmen in the destruction and destabilizing the public domain of the country. The report specifically says, “A group whose command is not clear engages in organized subversive activities.”
