“Rosie the Riveter” is iconic representation of American women who worked in manufacturing plants during World War II to help with the fight against fascism in Europe.
I’ve seen a cartoon of an Iranian woman in a black veil with the same pose, but I can not find it now otherwise I would’ve provided a link to it (update: here is a picture of a placard used in the San Francisco rally, but still I think there is another cartoon of the same pose somewhere).
When I was in the Saturday’s Mega Rally in San Francisco I saw a photo journalist, Nazy Kaviani, taking a picture of a woman with a green band around her arm. I put two and two together and here is my version of Iranian “Roshan the Riveter”, !روشن پرچ کُن.
