Eternal beauty

I was thinking of going to the Louvre on Tuesday but it was closed. I wasn’t sure where to go so I took the metro to one of the stations near the center of town. By Accident, I got out and I was on Champs-Elysees Avenue. I walked towards Arch du Triumph and I saw one of the Paris tour buses. I thought this was a good opportunity to get familiar with the main attractions and then I could choose which one to see. When the bus stopped by the D’Orsey art museum, I got off and went inside. The museum building itself (originally a station) and the works of art were a feast for the eye and mind. I wondered what is it that compels human beings to create and recreate beauty? Let me take you on a tour.

Many of these works were held at the Galerie nationale du Jeu de Paume prior to the museum’s opening in 1986 >>>
