The European Union on Tuesday voiced deep concern about reports of the imminent executions of three juvenile offenders in Iran.
“The EU notes that these executions would be a direct contravention of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s international commitments … prohibiting the execution of minors or people who have been convicted of crimes when they were minors,” the Swedish presidency of the EU said in a statement.
The statement referred to the cases of Behnoud Shojaee, Reza Padashi and Hossein Haghi.
