Last week, a US court threw out a case against Blackwater Worldwide, a (no-bid) contract security paramilitary group. It was a major case because of the charges of murder and recklessness and because of its symbolic value to justice thirsty Iraqis.
I think what upsets me about this case is the reason it was thrown: technicalities associated with how the prosecutors investigated the case witnesses.
Blackwater, like Ahmad Chalabi, received millions of tax payer dollars for contractual work in Iraq. They are both failures and poor partners, but they still got away with murder, literally.
I think that in 2010, we shouldn’t expect much anymore from the US wasteful wars. It is not a very happy new year so far. Israel is still making threats to Iran despite the positive, natural progression toward freedom in Iran.
It’s an upside down world! Blackwater just makes mistakes, but barely adult stupid Basij are making headlines. Why isn’t this a more sensible world?
All is fair in war and illegal war!!!!!
