Fabulously Gay

This is only a preliminary report on last night’s comedy show: “There are no Gays in Iran” in San Francisco’s Cafe du Nord Swedish American Hall. See photo essay.

The show exceeded my expectations in every respect. Conclusions:

* Mehran Khaghani is an absolute super star; hilarious, charming, full of energy. Have no doubt he’s going to be in big shows and sitcoms and movies in coming years, and you’ll love him.

* Amir Malekpour breaks out of his shy self and exposes his personal exploits in the most endearing way. His sweet smile is contagious. You can’t help loving him.

* Tissa Hami is amazing. I had not seen her perform after she did stand-up for an iranian.com show in 2004. And boy she has really mastered her craft in recent years. Funny, confident, delivers punch-lines after punch-line. The green scarf was a nice touch 🙂

* Max Amini… what a pro. Made the audience laugh the loudest. He’s a natural entertainer. A comic who never disappoints.

The venue was elegant and cozy. The audience was wonderful and engaging.

Just a fantastic night. See photo essay

A great thanks to Monda for organizing the entire program on her own. You made a lot of people happy.
