IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi said on Tuesday that he
does not count on inner Iranian opposition to halt the regime’s nuclear
development plans.
“If anyone hopes that opposition activity would weaken the Iranian
government, he should realize that it is stable and strong and the
nuclear program won’t be fazed,” he told Knesset Foreign Affairs and
Defense Committee members.
Ashkenazi expressed hope that imposed sanctions will bring about the
desired effect.
