Among the individual “peace and anti-war” activists who were hosted by the show president of IRR, the Islamist Rapist Republic, during his trip to New York, one has a special significance.
In one of its reports, IRIB, The official News organ of IRR’s broadcasting mentions this interesting person and what he said during the meeting.
“In his speech, Ramsey Clark who was the Attorney General during the presidency of Bush the father said:
Because the American leaders at that time did do wrong to the Iranian people, this matter has to be rectified through the passage of time.
We do believe in the Iranian system, government and people. And Iranian officials must tell us what we need to do to confront the American policies.”
The obvious misinformation about Ramsey being in the elder Bush’s cabinet aside, I see the significance of the meeting in another aspect.
You see besides his “peace advocacy” activities, Ramsey has also represented Milosevic who murdered thousands of civilians many of them Muslims. And at one point he was Saddam Hussein’s defense attorney during his trial for mass murder of mostly Muslims.
In light of crimes against humanity committed by IRR, most of the victims being Muslim, the fact that many genuine Iranian human rights attorneys and peace activists are currently languishing in IRR’s jails and the many who have had to flee the country– the touch-feely meeting between the two makes perfect sense.
