And then there were 10,000

Late last month, Iranian.com reached a milestone: member #10,000 successfully registered with the site. Since we inaugurated this version of the site in June, 2007, we have had a steady increase in number of registered members. The pace of new account sign-ups accelerated once it became necessary to register in order to leave comments. See contributors.

We thought we could take this opportunity to update some other important figures and trends about the site and its users. Most of these are from our database and from Google Analytics.

From 1995 to 2007, Iranian.com had generated approximately 215,000 pages in form of HTML files. Almost all of these remain visible today as archives. See, for example the September 1995 edition. Since June of 2007, we have added approximately 105,000 Web 2.0 nodes consisting of articles, blog entries, albums, etc. This means Iranian.com has roughly about 320,000 proper visible web pages on the Internet. If we count image and music files, it would probably be more than half a million URLs. Also since June of 2007, the site has generated about 3,700 articles, 16,400 blog entries, 52,000 images and just over 300,000 comments.
