TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran called on the international community to pressure Israel to dismantle its stockpiles of nuclear warheads, warning that the regime’s atomic arsenal pose a threat to the global peace and security.
“The existence of nuclear weapons in the hands of this regime that has a record of state terrorism and has done numerous acts of aggression has endangered regional and global peace and security,” Iran’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Mohammad Khazaei said at a UN Security Council meeting on Monday.
The Iranian envoy also reminded the international community of the final declaration of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) Review Conference in May and called for action against Israel’s nuclear program as a threat to both the Middle East and the world.
Israel is not a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and has not signed the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and it poses a great threat to the region and the world.
