I came here on a very sad day. I didn’t expect to blog, Delilah only does news on very specific topics and only now and then. But I happened to think of this song just now. So I decided to make a small tribute. This tribute is to all of you. I want to make it very clear that the Pahlavis mean very much to me mostly because they are such an important part of your story. The story of all of you. I want to make that very clear too. The most important thing about a story is just to try to listen. The best way is to listen to each other.
I’m sorry. I don’t remember how to embed a video.
O, that this too too solid flesh would melt
Thaw and resolve itself into a dew!
Or that the Everlasting had not fix’d
His canon ‘gainst self-slaughter! O God! God!
How weary, stale, flat and unprofitable,
Seem to me all the uses of this world!
Fie on’t! ah fie! ’tis an unweeded garden,
That grows to seed; things rank and gross in nature
Possess it merely.

ps regarding the lyrics. it isn’t all literal. and i don’t know. i don’t know if he gave to charity or how much. maybe he did, maybe he didn’t. that’s not the point so please don’t nitpick. he wound up giving, losing, more than most to your story.
pps oh, dk, i didn’t realize about your blog til after i posted this…they went to my high school by the way, they called themselves tom and jerry.
