New Iranian-built car to be unveiled next week



TEHRAN – The latest Iranian brand
vehicle based on a domestic platform, featuring the latest safety and
European environment standards, will be unveiled next week.


For the first time, the whole designing process of the project has been
undertaken by competent Iranian specialists without the aid of
foreigners, Mehr news agency reported.

Iran Khodro Company’s managing director Javad Najmeddin said the
new vehicle is an advanced model and is up to par with Euro 4 air
pollution standards.

Prior to this IKCO had produced another all-Iranian car named
Runna. It was unveiled two years ago. Iran Khodro Company designed and
manufactured the car and owns its intellectual property.

Runna too meets Euro IV and V standards related to air pollution
as well as the Pedestrian Impact safety requirement. It falls within
the class C sedans category which is affordable for the average Iranian
families.

Last year, the other Iranian carmaker SAIPA rolled out another all-Iranian car given the name Miniator.

The Miniator, which is fully designed and manufactured by the company’s engineers using only domestically built parts.
